Important Update for Shopify Users
Stocky App Transition Resource Page
-Updated 5/20/2026-
Overview
Yes, it is true: Shopify is discontinuing the Stocky app on August 31, 2026, and replacing it with new inventory management built directly into Shopify's core platform. We realize this is frustrating for many retailers who rely on the functionality of Stocky to run their retail operations, so we created this resource page to help guide you.
What You Need to Know:
For Management One Clients
As a Shopify Agency Partner, we received early access to the deprecation timeline and we got to work. This transition will be a non-event for your business. We're glad to share that Retail ORBIT now has direct API access to Shopify's native Purchase Order module. Our Support team will notify you when it's ready to make the switch.
Continue using Stocky for now
Your Retail ORBIT data is completely safe. While Shopify won't automatically transfer historical Stocky data (old purchase orders, stock counts, etc.) after August 31st, you won't lose any of your Retail ORBIT history. This is one of the many advantages of having your planning data in our system.
FAQ Regarding Migration from Stocky
When do I need to switch?
Stocky was delisted from the Shopify App Store on February 2, 2026, so reinstalling now won't be possible and it will be fully retired on August 31, 2026. You'll lose the ability to create new purchase orders, access supplier records, or use the Stocky API after that date.
Our recommendations:
Have your migration plan in place and tested well before July 2026 so you're not racing the deadline during a busy sales period.
Get familiar with Shopify Admin's purchase order and supplier workflows under Products > Purchase Orders.
How do I migrate my purchase order data?
Your historical purchase order data is already stored within Retail ORBIT and will remain accessible for reporting and reference; no export needed on your end to preserve history.
We will work with your team directly starting in July to begin migrating your existing purchase orders.
For active purchase orders going forward, you'll create and receive them directly in Shopify Admin under Products > Purchase Orders, and they'll flow into Retail ORBIT automatically through our new API connection.
How do I migrate my suppliers?
Supplier records can't be exported from Stocky, so they need to be recreated in Shopify Admin. The good news: Shopify's native supplier model is more straightforward than Stocky's, and supplier records are now tied directly to purchase orders, payment terms, and currency.
Because Retail ORBIT already holds your existing supplier records, we can help you reference what's currently in place as you rebuild in Shopify. For most stores this is a one-time setup, and for clients with longer supplier lists, our migration assistance covers this work as well.
How will my history be handled?
Your Stocky history — purchase orders, supplier records, receiving activity — is already secured within Retail ORBIT and will remain available for historical reporting and trend analysis. Nothing is lost when Stocky is retired.
Going forward, all purchase order activity, receiving events, and inventory adjustments will be tracked natively in Shopify with a full audit trail, and that data will continue to flow into Retail ORBIT as your source of truth for reporting.
What about my existing inventory and transfers?
Inventory levels and stock transfers move over automatically as Shopify is already the system of record for those. No action needed.
What if I'm using Stocky's API for custom integrations?
The Stocky API stops working on August 31, 2026. If you have custom integrations or third-party tools connected to Stocky, they'll need to be updated to use Shopify's Admin API. Retail ORBIT's connection to Shopify's Purchase Order API means you won't need to rebuild that piece — it's already done.
I’m not an M1 client, how do I protect my data?
Don’t let your data go dark! Retail ORBIT is a free Shopify app from Management One that turns your store data into a 12-week inventory plan and weekly action list. We're also building a direct connection to Shopify's native Purchase Order module that is set to go live well before the Stocky deadline.
Here's the time-sensitive part: if you connect your store to Retail ORBIT now as a Pro member, we'll sync and preserve your Stocky purchase order history inside Retail ORBIT. Suppliers, receiving activity, historical POs can all be captured before Stocky's API goes offline.
